At the first night of Rabiʿ al-Awwal, twelve years after the outset of his Divine Mission, the Holy Prophet migrated from Mecca to Medina. At this night, he hid in Cave Thawr. Imam Ali sacrificed himself for the Holy Prophet at this night, when he spent the night in the place of the Holy Prophet so as to give the latter enough time to leave Mecca safely and to arrive at his destination. Imam Ali challenged the polytheists who had plotted to assassinate the Holy Prophet by attacking him in his bed collectively. Thus, everybody confessed of Imam Ali’s bravery and courage, as well as his love for and fraternity with the Holy Prophet.

اللّيلة الأولى فيها في السّنة الثّالثة عشرة من البعثة هاجر النّبي صلى الله عليه وآله من مكّة الى المدينة المنوّرة، فاختبأ هذه اللّيلة في غار ثور. وفاداه أمير المؤمنين صلوات الله وسلامه عليه بنفسه فنام في فراشه غير مجانب سيوف قبائل المشركين. وأظهر اللهُ بذلك على العالمين فضلَه ومواساته وأخاءه النّبي صلى الله عليه وآله

Immortalizing this event, Almighty Allah revealed the following holy verse: “And among men is he who sells himself to seek the pleasure of Allah; and Allah is Affectionate to the servants. [2:207]”

فنزلت فيه الآية: (وَمِنَ النّاسِ مِنْ يَشْري نَفْسَهُ ابْتِغاءَ مَرْضاتِ اللهِ. وَاللهُ رَؤُوفٌ بِالْعِبَادِ.)

The first day of Rabiʿ al-Awwal

اليوم الأوّل

Scholars maintain that it is recommended to observe fasting on this day to express gratitude to Almighty Allah for His marvelous favor of having saved the Holy Prophet and Imam Ali—peace be upon them and their Household. It is also appropriate to visit their holy tombs on this day.

قال العلماء: يُستحبّ فيه الصّيام شكراً لله على ما أنعم من سلامة النّبي وأمير المؤمنين صلوات الله عليهما.

ومن المناسب زيارتهما (عليهما السلام) في هذا اليوم:

I bear witness that there is no god save Allah; alone without having any partner; and I bear witness that you are His messenger and you are Muhammad, the son of Abdullah. And I bear witness that you have truly conveyed the missions of your Lord, well-wished for your nation, striven hard in the way of Allah by means of wisdom and excellent preaching, and fulfilled the duty that is incumbent upon you; and you have been sympathetic with the believers and unyielding to the unbelievers; and you have worshipped Allah sincerely until death came upon you. Allah therefore has lifted you up to the most honorable place of the honored ones. All praise be to Allah Who has saved us, through you, from polytheism and deviation. O Allah, (please) send blessings to Muhammad and his Household, and make Your blessings, the blessings of Your angels, Your prophets, the Messengers, Your righteous servants, the inhabitants of the heavens and the [layers of the] earth, and everyone who glorifies You, O Lord of the worlds, from the past and the late generations, be on Muhammad, Your servant, messenger, prophet, trustee, elite, most-beloved, elect, choice, dignitary, select, and the best of Your creatures. And grant him preference, virtue, [right of] mediation, and sublime rank; and send him a praiseworthy status which all the past and the late generations wish to have. O Allah, You have said: “And had they, when they were unjust to themselves, come to you and asked forgiveness of Allah, and the Messenger had also asked forgiveness for them, they would have found Allah Oft-returning to mercy, Merciful.” O my God, I have come to Your Prophet, seeking forgiveness of You and repenting before You from my sins; so, (please) send blessings to Muhammad and his Household and forgive them for me. O our master, I turn by you and by your Household towards Allah, the Exalted, your and my Lord, so that He may forgive me.

أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لاَ إِلٰهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ وَحْدَهُ لاَ شَرِيكَ لَهُ وَأَشْهَدُ أَنَّكَ رَسُولُهُ وَأَنَّكَ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِاللَّهِ وَأَشْهَدُ أَنّكَ قَدْ بَلَّغْتَ رِسَالاتِ رَبِّكَ وَنَصَحْتَ لأُمَّتِكَ وَجَاهَدْتَ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ بِالْحِكْمَةِ وَالْمَوْعِظَةِ الحَسَنَةِ وَأَدَّيْتَ الَّذِي عَلَيْكَ مِنَ الحَقِّ وَأَنَّكَ قَدْ رَؤُفْتَ بِالْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَغَلَظْتَ عَلَىٰ الكَافِرِينَ وَعَبَدْتَ اللَّهَ مُخْلِصاً حَتَّىٰ أَتَاكَ اليَقِينُ فَبَلَغَ اللَّهُ بِكَ أَشْرَفَ مَحَلِّ الْمُكَرَّمِينَ الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي اسْتَنْقَذَنَا بِكَ مِنَ الشِّرْكِ وَالضَّلالِ اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَىٰ مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِهِ وَاجْعَلْ صَلَوَاتِكَ وَصَلَوَاتِ مَلاَئِكَتِكَ وَأَنْبِيَائِكَ وَالْمُرْسَلِينَ وَعِبَادِكَ الصَّالِحِينَ وَأَهْلِ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالأَرَضِينَ وَمَنْ سَبَّحَ لَكَ يَا رَبَّ العَالَمِينَ مِنَ الأَوَّلِينَ وَالآخِرِينَ عَلَىٰ مُحَمَّدٍ عَبْدِكَ وَرَسُولِكَ وَنَبِيِّكَ وَأَمِينِكَ وَنَجِيبِكَ وَحَبِيبِكَ وَصَفِيِّكَ وَصِفْوَتِكَ وَخَاصَّتِكَ وَخَالِصَتِكَ وَخِيَرَتِكَ مِنْ خَلْقِكَ وَأَعْطِهِ الفَضْلَ وَالفَضِيلَةَ وَالوَسِيلَةَ وَالدَّرَجَةَ الرَّفِيعَةَ وَابْعَثْهُ مَقَاماً مَحْمُوداً يَغْبِطُهُ بِهِ الأَوَّلُونَ وَالآخِرُونَ اللَّهُمَّ إِنَّكَ قُلْتَ: ﴿وَلَوْ أَنَّهُمْ إِذْ ظَلَمُوا أَنفُسَهُمْ جَاءُوكَ فَاسْتَغْفَرُوا اللَّهَ وَاسْتَغْفَرَ لَهُمُ الرَّسُولُ لَوَجَدُوا اللَّهَ تَوَّاباً رَحِيماً﴾ إِلٰهِي فَقَدْ أَتَيْتُ نَبِيَّكَ مُسْتَغْفِراً تَائِباً مِنْ ذُنُوبِي فَصَلِّ عَلَىٰ مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِهِ وَاغْفِرْهَا لِي يَا سَيِّدَنَا أَتَوَجَّهُ بِكَ وَبِأَهْلِ بَيْتِكَ إِلَىٰ اللَّهِ تَعَالَىٰ رَبِّكَ وَرَبِّي لِيَغْفِرَ لِي

Salutatory Prayer to Imam Ali the Commander of the Faithful

زيارة أمير المؤمنين عليه السلام

Peace be upon you, O trustee of Allah on His lands and argument of Allah against His servants. Peace be upon you, O Commander of the Faithful. I bear witness that you strove for the sake of Allah as it ought to be striven, acted upon His Book, and followed the instructions of His Prophet, peace of Allah be upon him and his Household, until Allah called you to be in His vicinity. So, He grasped you to Him by His will and put your enemies under the claim although you have inclusive claims against all of His creatures. O Allah, (please do) cause my soul to be fully tranquil with Your decrees, satisfied with Your acts, fond of mentioning and praying to You, bearing love for the choicest of Your intimate servants, beloved in Your lands and heavens, steadfast against the affliction of Your tribulations, thankful for Your graceful bounties, always bearing in mind Your incessant gifts, longing for the gladness of meeting You, supplied with piety for the day of Your rewarding, pursuing the morals of Your intimate servants, quitting the conducts of Your enemies, and distracted from this world by praising and thanking You. O Allah, the hearts of those humbling themselves to You are fascinated, the paths of those desiring for You are open, the sings of those directing to You are evident, the hearts of those having recognition of You are resorting to You, the voices of those beseeching You are mounting up to You, the doors of responding to them are wide open, the prayer of him who speaks to You confidentially is responded, the repentance of him who turns to You modestly is admitted, the tear of him who weeps on account of fear from You is compassionated, the aid of him who seeks Your aid is available, the help of him who seeks Your help is obtainable, Your promises to Your servants are fulfilled, the slips of him who implore You to excuse him are forgivable, the deeds of those who act for You are preserved, Your sustenance to the creatures are descending from You, Your gifts for further conferrals are reaching them, the sins of those imploring Your forgiveness are forgiven, the requests of Your creatures are granted by You, the prizes of those begging You are offered, Your gifts for further conferrals are uninterrupted, the dining tables for those seeking Your feeding are prepared, and the springs of quenching their thirst are brimful. O Allah, (so) respond to my prayer, accept my thanksgiving for You, and join me to my masters, [I beseech You] in the name of Muhammad, Ali, Fatima, al-Hassan, and al-Hussein. You are verily the only source of my boons, the ultimate goal of my wishes, and the target of my hope in my recourses and settlement. You are verily my God, Master, and Lord. (Please) forgive our friend, prevent our enemies against us, distract them from harming us, give prevalence to the Word of Truth and make it the supreme, and frustrate the word of falsehood and make it the lowliest. Verily, You have power over all things.

السَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا أَمِينَ اللَّهِ فِي أَرْضِهِ وَحُجَّتَهُ عَلَىٰ عِبَادِهِ السَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا أَمِيرَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ أَشْهَدُ أَنَّكَ جَاهَدْتَ فِي اللَّهِ حَقَّ جِهَادِهِ وَعَمِلْتَ بِكِتَابِهِ وَاتَّبَعْتَ سُنَنَ نَبِيِّهِ صَلَّىٰ اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ حَتّىٰ دَعَاكَ اللَّهُ إِلَىٰ جِوَارِهِ فَقَبَضَكَ إِلَيْهِ بِاخْتِيَارِهِ وَالزَمَ أَعْدَائَكَ الْحُجَّةَ مَعَ مَا لَكَ مِنَ الْحُجَجِ الْبَالِغَةِ عَلَىٰ جَمِيعِ خَلْقِهِ اللَّهُمَّ فَاجْعَلْ نَفْسِي مُطْمَئِنَّةً بِقَدَرِكَ رَاضِيَةً بِقَضَائِكَ مُولَعَةً بِذِكْرِكَ وَدُعَائِكَ مُحِبَّةً لِصَفْوَةِ أَوْلِيَائِكَ مَحْبُوبَةً فِي أَرْضِكَ وَسَمَائِكَ صَابِرَةً عَلَىٰ نُزُولِ بَلاَئِكَ شَاكِرَةً لِفَوَاضِلِ نَعْمَائِكَ ذَاكِرَةً لِسَوَابِغِ آلاَئِكَ مُشْتَاقَةً إِلَىٰ فَرْحَةِ لِقَائِكَ مُتَزَوِّدَةً التَّقْوَىٰ لِيَوْمِ جَزَائِكَ مُسْتَنَّةً بِسُنَنِ أَوْلِيَائِكَ مُفَارِقَةً لأَخْلاَقِ أَعْدَائِكَ مَشْغُولَةً عَنِ الدُّنْيَا بِحَمْدِكَ وَثَنَائِكَ. اللَّهُمَّ إِنَّ قُلُوبَ الْمُخْبِتِينَ إِلَيْكَ وَالِهَةٌ وَسُبُلَ الرَّاغِبِينَ إِلَيْكَ شَارِعَةٌ وَأَعْلاَمَ الْقَاصِدِينَ إِلَيْكَ وَاضِحَةٌ وَأَفْئِدَةَ الْعَارِفِينَ مِنْكَ فَازِعَةٌ وَأَصْوَاتَ الدَّاعِينَ إِلَيْكَ صَاعِدَةٌ وَأَبْوَابَ الإِجَابَةِ لَهُمْ مُفَتَّحَةٌ وَدَعْوَةَ مَنْ نَاجَاكَ مُسْتَجَابَةٌ وَتَوْبَةَ مَنْ أَنَابَ إِلَيْكَ مَقْبُولَةٌ وَعَبْرَةَ مَنْ بَكَىٰ مِنْ خَوْفِكَ مَرْحُومَةٌ وَالإِغَاثَهَ لِمَنِ اسْتَغَاثَ بِكَ مَوْجُودةٌ وَالإِعَانَةَ لِمَنِ اسْتَعَانَ بِكَ مَبْذُولَةٌ وَعِدَاتِكَ لِعِبَادِكَ مُنْجَزَةٌ وَزَلَلَ مَنِ اسْتَقَالَكَ مُقَالَةٌ وَأَعْمَالَ الْعَامِلِينَ لَدَيْكَ مَحْفُوظَةٌ وَأَرْزَاقَكَ إِلَىٰ الْخَلاَئِقِ مِنْ لَدُنْكَ نَازِلَةٌ وَعَوَائِدَ الْمَزِيدِ إِلَيْهِمْ وَاصِلَةٌ وَذُنُوبَ الْمُسْتَغْفِرِينَ مَغْفُورَةٌ وَحَوَائِجَ خَلْقِكَ عِنْدَكَ مَقْضِيَّةٌ وَجَوَائِزَ السَّائِلِينَ عِنْدَكَ مُوَفَّرَةٌ وَعَوَائِدَ الْمَزِيدِ مُتَوَاتِرَةٌ وَمَوَائِدَ الْمُسْتَطْعِمِينَ مُعَدَّةٌ وَمَنَاهِلَ الظِّمَاءِ مُتْرَعَةٌ اللَّهُمَّ فَاسْتَجِبْ دُعَائِي وَاقْبَلْ ثَنَائِي وَاجْمَعْ بَيْنِي وَبَيْنَ أَوْلِيَائِي بِحَقِّ مُحَمَّدٍ وَعَلِيٍّ وَفَاطِمَةَ وَالْحَسَنِ وَالْحُسَيْنِ إِنَّكَ وَلِيُّ نَعْمَائِي وَمُنْتَهَىٰ مُنَايَ وَغَايَةُ رَجَائِي فِي مُنْقَلَبِي وَمَثْوَايَ. أَنْتَ إِلٰهِي وَسَيِّدِي وَمَوْلاَيَ اغْفِرْ لأَوْلِيَائِنَا وَكُفَّ عَنَّا أَعْدَائَنَا وَأَشْغِلْهُمْ عَنْ أَذَانَا وَأَظْهِرْ كَلِمَةَ ﭐلْحَقِّ وَﭐجْعَلْهَا ﭐلْعُلْيَا وَأَدْحِضْ كَلِمَةَ ﭐلْبَاطِلِ وَﭐجْعَلْهَا ﭐلسُّفْلَىٰ إِنَّكَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَىٰءٍ قَدِيرٌ

The eighth of Rabiʿ al-Awwal

اليوم الثّامن

On the eighth of Rabiʿ al-Awwal AH 260, Imam al-Hassan al-Askari departed life; and his son, the Patron of the Age, was appointed as the twelfth Imam. It is thus appropriate to visit both of them on this day.

اليوم الثّامن سنة مائتين وستّين توفّي الإمام الحسن العسكري عليه السلام. فنُصّب صاحب الأمر عليه السلام إماماً على الخلق. ومن المناسب زيارتهما عليهما السلام في هذا اليوم

زيارة الإمام الحسن العسكري عليه السلام

Peace be upon you, O saint of Allah! Peace be upon you, O argument of Allah and His choicest! Peace be upon you, O leader of the faithful believers, inheritor of the messengers, and argument of the Lord of the Worlds! May Allah send peace upon you and upon your Household, the pure and immaculate! O my master, O Abu-Muhammad, al-Hassan, the son of Ali! I am a servant of you and of your Household.

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا وَلِيَّ اللَّهِ اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا حُجَّةَ اللَّهِ وَخَالِصَتَهُ اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا إِمَامَ الْمُؤْمِنينَ وَوَارِثَ الْمُرْسَلِينَ وَحُجَّةَ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ صَلَّىٰ اللَّهُ عَلَيْكَ وَعَلَىٰ آلِ بَيْتِكَ الطَّيِّبِينَ الطَّاهِرِينَ يَا مَوْلاَيَ يَا أَبَا مُحَمَّدٍ الْحَسَنَ بْنَ عَلِيٍّ أَنَا مَوْلىٰ لَكَ وَلآِلِ بَيْتِكَ

The ninth of Rabiʿ al-Awwal

اليوم التّاسع

The ninth of Rabiʿ al-Awwal is a feast day, which is called Eid al-Baqr (Feast of Stabbing). The details are so lengthy; therefore, we will omit them, and they may be investigated in other books. It has been narrated that to give alms on this day brings about God’s forgiveness of sins. It has also been said that it is recommended, on this day, to offer food, give pleasure to one’s brethren-in-faith, confer upon one’s family members with gifts, new clothes, and all that they need, praise and thank Almighty Allah, and practice acts of worship to Him.

عيد عظيم، وهو عيد البقر، وشرحه طويل مذكور في محلّه. وروي أنّ من أنفق شيئاً في هذا اليوم غفرت ذُنوبه. وقيل يستحبّ في هذا اليوم إطعام الاخوان المؤمنين وإفراحهم والتّوسّع في نفقة العيال ولبس الثّياب الطّيّبة وشكر الله تعالى وعبادته

This day, which is also a holy day, is thus the day of removing grievances and sorrows. As the past day was the day of Imam al-Hassan al-Askari’s martyrdom, the ninth of Rabiʿ al-Awwal is thus the first day in the Imamate of Imam al-Mahdi, may Allah hasten his advent. And this is an additional point of happiness on this day.

وهو يوم زوال الغُموم والأحزان، وهو يوم شريف جدّاً

واليوم الثّامن من الشّهر كان يوم وفاة الإمام الحسن العسكري عليه السلام، فهذا اليوم يكون أوّل يوم من عصر إمامة صاحب العصر، أرواح العالمين له الفداء. وهذا ممّا يزيد اليوم شرفاً وفضلاً

The twelfth of Rabiʿ al-Awwal

اليوم الثّاني عشر

According to the opinion of al-Kulayni and al-Masʿudi, the Holy Prophet was born on the twelfth of Rabiʿ al-Awwal. This is also the unanimous opinion of the other Muslim sects. It is thus recommended to offer a two-unit prayer with Surah al-Fatihah once and Surah al-Tawhid three times at the first unit, and Surah al-Fatihah once and Surah al-Kafirun (no. 109) three times at the second. On this day too, the Holy Prophet entered the holy city of Medina after he had left Mecca. Sheikh al-Tusi adds that on this day in AH 132, the Marwanid Dynasty perished.

ميلاد النّبي صلى الله عليه وآله على رأي الكليني والمسعودي، وهو المشهور لدى العامّة. ويستحبّ فيه الصّلاة ركعتان: في الأولى بعد الحمد قل يا أَيُّهَا الْكافِرُونَ ثلاثاً، وفي الثّانية التّوحيد ثلاثاً. وفي هذا اليوم دخل صلى الله عليه وآله المدينة مهاجراً من مكّة. وقال الشّيخ: إنّ في مثل هذا اليوم في سنة اثنتين وثلاثين ومائة انقضى دولة بني مروان

The fourteenth of Rabiʿ al-Awwal

اليوم الرّابع عشر

On the fourteenth of Rabiʿ al-Awwal AH 64, Yazid ibn Muawiya, the Umayyad tyrant, perished and, thus, hurried to join the lowest stage of Hellfire. According to the book Akhbar al-Duwal, Yazid was infected by pleurisy in Hawran. His dead body was thus moved to Damascus where he was buried in al-Bab al-Saghir. His grave is now a dunghill. He lived thirty-seven years and ruled for three years and nine months.

اليوم الرّابع عشر سنة أربع وستّين مات يزيد بن معاوية، فأسرع الى دركات الجحيم. وفي كتاب “أخبار الدّول” أنّه مات مصاباً بذات الجنب في حوران، فأُتي بجنازته الى دمشق ودفن في الباب الصّغير. وقبره الآن مزبلة، وقد بلغ عمره السّابعة والثّلاثين، ودامت خلافته ثلاث سنين وتسعة أشهر

The seventeenth night of Rabiʿ al-Awwal

اللّيلة السّابعة عشرة

At the seventeenth night of Rabiʿ al-Awwal, the Holy Prophet was born. It is thus a very blessed night. Sayyid Ibn Tawus has narrated that one year before Hegira, the Holy Prophet ascended to the seven heavens at the seventeenth night of Rabiʿ al-Awwal.

ليلة ميلاد خاتم الأنبياء صلوات الله عليه، وهي ليلة شريفة جدّاً. وحكى السّيد قولاً بأنّ في مثل هذه اللّيلة أيضاً كان معراجه قبل الهجرة بسنة واحدة

The seventeenth of Rabiʿ al-Awwal

اليوم السّابع عشر

The seventeenth of Rabiʿ al-Awwal is the birthday of the Holy Prophet, Muhammad ibn Abdullah—may peace and blessings of Allah be upon him and his Household. This is the famous opinion adopted by the Imamiyyah scholars. It is well-known that the Holy Prophet was born in Mecca, in his house, at the break of the morning of Friday in the year known as “The Elephant Year” during the reign of the Anushirwan, the fair king of Persia (also called Khosrow the Just).

ميلاد خاتم الأنبياء محمّد بن عبد الله صلى الله عليه وآله، على المشهور بين الاماميّة. والمعروف أنّ ولادته كانت في مكّة المعظّمة في بيته عند طلوع الفجر من يوم الجمعة في عام الفيل في عهد انوشيروان العادل

Also, on the seventeenth of Rabiʿ al-Awwal, AH 83, Imam Jaafar ibn Muhammad al-Sadiq was born. This event has added further honor to this day. In brief, the devotional acts that should be practiced on this holy day are as follows:

وفي هذا اليوم الشّريف أيضاً في سنة ثلاث وثمانين ولد الامام جعفر الصّادق عليه السلام، فزاده فضلاً وشرفاً

والخلاصة أنّ هذا اليوم شريف جدّاً وفيه عدّة أعمال

First: it is recommended to bathe oneself on this day.

الأوّل: الغُسل

Second: It is recommended to observe fasting on this day, since this brings about many rewards. In this respect, it is narrated that to observe fasting on this day brings about the reward of observing fasting for a whole year. It is, in fact, one of the four days the observance of fasting on which has been exclusively confirmed.

الثّاني: الصّوم؛ وله فضل كثير. وروي أنّ من صامه كُتب له صيام سنة. وهذا اليوم هو أحد الأيّام الأربعة التي خُصّت بالصّيام بين أيّام السّنة

Third: It is recommended to visit the tomb of the Holy Prophet from near or remote distance.

الثّالث: زيارة النّبي صلى الله عليه وآله عن قُرب أو بُعد

I bear witness that there is no god save Allah, alone without having any associate, and I bear witness that Muhammad is His servant and Messenger, that he is the chief of the ancient and the coming generations, and that he is the chief of all Prophets and Messengers. O Allah, send blessings upon him and upon his Household—the Immaculate Imams. Peace be upon you, O Messenger of Allah. Peace be upon you, O Friend of Allah. Peace be upon you, O Prophet of Allah. Peace be upon you, O Choice of Allah. Peace be upon you, O Mercy of Allah. Peace be upon you, O Well-Chosen by Allah. Peace be upon you, O Most Beloved by Allah. Peace be upon you, O Selected by Allah. Peace be upon you, O Seal of the Prophets. Peace be upon you, O Master of the Messengers. Peace be upon you, O Maintainer of justice. Peace be upon you, O introducer of goodliness. Peace be upon you, O core of Divine Inspiration and Revelation. Peace be upon you, O conveyor on behalf of Allah. Peace be upon you, O light-giving torch. Peace be upon you, O conveyor of good tidings (to the believers). Peace be upon you, O warner (against Allah’s chastisement). Peace be upon you, O he who warns (against violating Allah’s commands). Peace be upon you, O Allah’s Light that spreads luminosity. Peace be upon you and upon your Household—the pure, immaculate, guides, and rightly guided. Peace be upon you and upon your grandfather, Abd al-Muttalib, and upon your father, Abdullah. peace be upon your mother, Aminah the daughter of Wahab. Peace be upon your (paternal) uncle, Hamzah, the master of martyrs. Peace be upon your uncle, al-Abbas the son of Abd al-Muttalib. Peace be upon your uncle and your guardian, Abu-Talib. Peace be upon your cousin, Jaafar the flying in the gardens of the Paradise of Eternity. Peace be upon you, O Muhammad (the praised). Peace be upon you, O Ahmad (the more praised). Peace be upon you, O Argument of Allah against the past and coming generations, foremost to the obedience to the Lord of the worlds, prevailing over His Messengers, last of His Prophets, witness over all His creatures, interceder to Him, firmly established with Him, obeyed in His Kingdom, winner of the most praised qualities, holder of the most praised honors, honored by the Lord, addressee (by Almighty Allah) from behind the (Divine) Veils, most advanced in position, and unovertakable. I greet you with the greeting of him who acknowledges your right (that is incumbent upon us), who confesses of his shortcoming in carrying out his duty towards you, who does not discuss your limitless virtues, who is sure that you will have more rewards from your Lord, who believes in the Book that was revealed to you, who deems lawful all that which you deemed lawful, and who deems unlawful all that which you deemed unlawful. O Messenger of Allah, I bear witness—and I join everyone who bears witness and also bear witness rather than everyone who may deny it— that you conveyed the messages of your Lord (flawlessly), offered your nation good advice, strove in the way of your Lord, expounded openly what you were commanded to convey, stood harm for the sake of Him, called to the way of Him with excellent wisdom and fair exhortation, fulfilled the duty with which you were commissioned, you, verily, were compassionate to the believers, strong against the unbelievers, and you worshipped Allah sincerely until death came upon you. Therefore, Almighty Allah has exalted you to the most honorable position of the ennobled ones, to the most elevated place of the intimate servants of Him, and to the most exalted ranks of the Messengers where none can come up with you, none can excel you, none can overtake you, and none can even think of obtaining your rank. All praise be to Allah Who saved us from perdition through you, Who guided us off misdirection through you, and Who lit our darkness through you. O Messenger of Allah, may Allah reward you, for you are His envoy, with the best rewarding that He has ever conferred upon a prophet on behalf of his people or a messenger on behalf of those to whom He has sent him. May Allah accept my father and my mother as ransoms for you, O Messenger of Allah. I am visiting you for I acknowledge your right (that is incumbent upon us), I confess of your superiority, I know for sure about the straying off (from the right path) of those who dissent from you and from your Household, and I admit the true guidance that you follow (and lead to). May Allah accept my father, my mother, me, my family, my property, and my sons as ransoms for you! Let me invoke Almighty Allah’s blessings upon you in the same way as Allah did send blessings upon you and so did His angels, Prophets, and Messengers; such blessings that are consecutive, abundant, continuous, incessant, infinite, and unlimited. May Allah send blessings upon you and upon your Household, the pure and immaculate, as much as you deserve. O Allah, (please do) make You complete blessings, Your perfect benedictions, Your most virtuous boons, and Your most honorable greetings, salutations, dignities, and mercy, as well as the blessings of Your archangels, your commissioned Prophets, Your elite Imams, Your righteous servants, the inhabitants of the heavens and the earth, and (the blessings of) everyone who glorified You, O Lord of the worlds, from the past and the coming generations— make all these pour forth upon Muhammad; Your servant, Your messenger, Your witness, Your Prophet, Your warner, Your trustee, Your firmly established (in truth), Your confidante, Your elite, Your most beloved, Your friend, Your choice, Your notable, Your elect, Your well-chosen, Your mercy, the best of Your created beings, the Prophet of mercy, the storer of forgiveness, the leader to goodliness and blessing, the savior of the servants (of Almighty Allah) from perdition by Your permission, the caller of them to Your religion, the custodian by Your order, the first Prophet to make the covenant, and the last Prophet to be sent (to humanity), whom You have immersed in the ocean of virtue, in the lofty rank, in the elevated level, and in the exalted position; and whom You entrusted in the pure loins and moved to the immaculate wombs out of Your kindness to him and Your compassion to him. In order to safeguard, to shield, to protect, and to defend him, You assigned, out of Your omnipotence, a protective lookout over him to keep him from the impurities of adultery and from the defects of fornication; thus, You raised the sights of the servants through him and revived the derelict lands when You removed the screening murk by the light of his birth and dressed Your Holy Precinct the garments of brightness through him. O Allah, as You have given him exclusively the honor of this noble rank and the privilege of this great merit, (please do) bless him for he fulfilled his covenant to You, conveyed all Your messages, fought against the infidels in order to prove Your Oneness, exterminated the womb of atheism in order to strengthen Your religion, and dressed himself the garb of misfortune in order to struggle against Your enemies. Hence, You have given him as recompense for any harm that inflicted him, any trickery that he faced from the faction who tried to assassinate him; a merit that excels all other merits and due to which he possessed Your abundant gifts. In return, he hid his sadness, concealed his grief, swallowed the pang, and never did he violate the instructions of Your Revelation. O Allah, (please do) send blessings upon him and his Household—blessings that You please for them, and convey our abundant greetings and compliments to him, and give us – from You on account of our loyalty to them – favors, kindness, mercy, and forgiveness. Verily, You are the Lord of great favor. O Allah, You have said to Your Prophet Muhammad— may Allah bless him and his Household: “And had they, when they were unjust to themselves, come to you and asked forgiveness of Allah and the Messenger had (also) asked forgiveness for them, they would have found Allah Oft-returning (to mercy), Merciful.” I was not present at the age of Your Messenger—peace be upon him and his Household. O Allah, I have visited him desiring, repenting from my ill deeds, imploring forgiveness of my sins, confessing of my having committed these sins although You know them more than I do, and turning my face towards You in the name of Your Prophet, the Prophet of Mercy— may Your blessings be upon him and his Household. O Allah, in the name of Muhammad and his Household, (please do) make me illustrious in this world as well as the Next World and one of those brought near to You. O Muhammad! O Messenger of Allah! May Allah accept my father and mother as ransoms for you! O Prophet of Allah! O chief of all created beings of Allah! In Your name do I turn my face towards Allah, my and your Lord, so that He may forgive my sins, accept my deeds, and settle my requests. Therefore, be my interceder before your and my Lord, for my Lord, the Master, is the best besought and You are the best interceder. O Muhammad! May peace be upon you and upon your Household. O Allah, (please do) confer upon me with forgiveness, mercy, and sustenance that is outgoing, good, and beneficial from Your Presence in the same way as You conferred upon him who came to Your Prophet, Muhammad, when he was alive, may your blessings be upon him and his Household, and confessed of his sins. Thus, Your Messenger prayed You to forgive him. May your blessings be upon him and his Household. And You did forgive him out of Your mercy, O most Merciful of all those who show mercy. O Allah, I now put my hope in You, please You, stand before You, desire for You other than anyone else, and hope for Your abundant reward while I confess of my sins and I do not deny them, I repent to You from whatever I have committed, and I seek refuge with You from this position against the deeds that I have committed although You, firstly, had introduced them to me as prohibited, warned me against committing them, and threatened me with Your punishment if I would violate. And I seek shelter with the nobility of Your Face lest You impose upon me the situation of disgrace and humility on the day when the veils will be exposed, the secrets and scandals will be disclosed, and the muscles will writhe with fear; on the day of regret and remorse, the day of exposing the liars, the day of the approaching doom, the day of assembling, the day of separation, the day of punishment, the day the measure of which is fifty thousand years, the day of the blowing, the day on which the quaking land shall quake followed by oft-repeated commotions, the day of raising the dead, the day of exposition before the Fire, the day when all mankind stand before the Lord of the Worlds, the day when a man flees from his brother, his mother, his father, his wife, and his children, the day when the earth and the sides of the heavens will split asunder, the day when every soul will come pleading for itself, the day when they will be relegated to Allah Who will inform them of what they did, the day when a friend can in naught avail his friend nor can they be helped save him on whom Allah will have mercy. Lo! He is the Mighty, the Merciful, the day when they will be returned to the Knower of the invisible and the visible, the day when they will be restored to Allah, their Lord, the Just, the day when they come forth from the graves in haste, as racing to a goal and as locusts spreading abroad, hastening toward the Summoner— to Allah, the day of the event inevitable when the earth will be shaken with a shock, the day when the sky will become as molten copper and the hills become as flakes of wool and no familiar friend will ask a question of his friend, the day of the witness and that whereunto he bears testimony, and they day when the angels will come rank on rank. O Allah, (please do) have mercy upon my situation on that day (when I will be stopped for interrogation) for my current situation, and do not confound me at that situation for the wrongdoings that I have committed against myself. O my Lord, (please do) group me, on that day, with Your intimate servants, include me with the company of Muhammad and his Household—peace be upon them— make the Pond of him (i.e. the Holy Prophet) to be my arrival point, make me a place among the honorable, white-forehead group, and give me my Record (of deeds) in my right hand so that I will succeed due to my rewards, You will make my face white, You will make easy for me my reckoning, You will make my pan of the Scale (of deeds) outweigh, and I will join the triumphant ones among Your righteous servants to Your Pleasure and gardens of Paradise. O God of the Worlds! O Allah, I do seek Your protection lest You may expose me on that day in the presence of Your creatures because of my sins, or I may encounter disgrace and regret due to my wrongdoings, or You may make my evildoings outweigh my good deeds, or You may declare my name as loser amongst Your creatures. O All-generous, O All-generous, (I beg You for) pardon, (I beg You for) pardon, (I beg You for) covering (my evildoings), (I beg You for) covering (my evildoings). O Allah, I also seek Your protection against including me, on that day, with the line of the evils or add me to the row of the wretched ones. When You shall distinguish between Your creatures and drive each group –according to their deeds- to their final abodes in groups, (please do) line me up, in the name of Your mercy, with the group of Your righteous servants, and drive me with the group of the Your pious, intimate servants to the gardens of Your Paradise, O Lord of the Worlds! Peace be upon you, O Messenger of Allah. Peace be upon you, O conveyor of good tidings (to the believers) and warner (against Allah’s chastisement). Peace be upon you, O light-giving torch. Peace be upon you, O intercessor between Allah and His creatures. I bear witness, O Messenger of Allah, that You were light in the lofty loins and purified wombs. The ignorance could not stain you with its impurities or dress you its gloomy garbs. I also bear witness, O Messenger of Allah, that I have faith in you and in the Imams from your Household, and I believe in all that which you have brought, satisfactorily and faithfully. And I bear witness that the Imams from your Household are the signs of (true) guidance, the Firmest Handle, and the arguments against the inhabitants in this world. O Allah, (please) do not make it the last of my pilgrimage to (the tomb of) Your Prophet— peace be upon him and his Household. If you decide to grasp my soul, I will bear witness in my death, as same as I have born witness in my lifetime, that Your are verily Allah; there is no god save You, alone without having any associate, that Muhammad is Your servant and Messenger, and that the Imams from his Household are Your intimate servants, Your supporters, Your Arguments against Your creatures, Your representatives amongst Your servants, Your sings in Your lands, the custodians of Your knowledge, the keepers of Your secret, and the interpreters of Your Revelation. O Allah, (please do) send blessings upon Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad and convey to the souls of Your Prophet, Muhammad, and his Household, at this very hour as well as all times, greetings and compliments from me. O Messenger of Allah, peace and Allah’s mercy and blessings be upon you. Allah may not decide this compliment of me to be the last.

أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَا إِلٰهَ إِلاَّ اللَّهُ وَحْدَهُ لَا شَرِيكَ لَهُ وَأَشْهَدُ أَنَّ مُحَمَّداً عَبْدُهُ وَرَسُولُهُ وَأَنَّهُ سَيِّدُ الأَوَّلِينَ وَالآخِرِينَ وَأَنَّهُ سَيِّدُ الأَنْبِيَاءِ وَالْمُرْسَلِينَ اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَيْهِ وَعَلَىٰ أَهْلِ بَيْتِهِ الأَئِمَةِ الطَّيِّبِينَ. السَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ السَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا خَلِيلَ اللَّهِ السَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ السَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا صَفِيَّ اللَّهِ السَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا رَحْمَةَ اللَّهِ السَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا خِيَرَةَ اللَّهِ السَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا حَبِيبَ اللَّهِ السَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا نَجِيبَ اللَّهِ السَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا خَاتَمَ النَّبِيِّينَ السَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا سَيِّدَ الْمُرْسَلِينَ السَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا قَائِماً بِالْقِسْطِ السَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا فَاتِحَ الْخَيْرِ السَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا مَعْدِنَ الوَحْيِ وَالتَّنْزِيلِ السَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا مُبَلِّغاً عَنِ اللَّهِ السَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ أَيُّهَا السِّرَاجُ الْمُنِيرُ السَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا مُبَشِّرُ السَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا نَذِيرُ السَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا مُنْذِرُ السَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا نُورَ اللَّهِ الَّذِي يُسْتَضَاءُ بِهِ السَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ وَعَلَىٰ أَهْلِ بَيْتِكَ الطَّيِّبِينَ الطَّاهِرِينَ الْهَادِينَ الْمَهْدِيِّينَ السَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ وَعَلَىٰ جَدِّكَ عَبْدِ الْمُطَّلِبِ وَعَلَىٰ أَبِيكَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ السَّلاَمُ عَلَىٰ أُمِّكَ آمِنَةَ بِنْتِ وَهَبٍ السَّلاَمُ عَلَىٰ عَمِّكَ حَمْزَةَ سَيِّدِ الشُّهَدَاءِ السَّلاَمُ عَلَىٰ عَمِّكَ العَبَّاسِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْمُطَّلِبِ السَّلاَمُ عَلَىٰ عَمِّكَ وَكَفِيلِكَ أَبِي طَالِبٍ السَّلاَمُ عَلَىٰ ابْنِ عَمِّكَ جَعْفَرٍ الطَّيَّارِ فِي جِنَانِ الْخُلْدِ السَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا مُحَمَّدُ السَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا أَحْمَدُ السَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا حُجَّةَ اللَّهِ عَلَىٰ الأَوَّلِينَ وَالآخِرِينَ وَالسَّابِقَ إِلَىٰ طَاعَةِ رَبِّ العَالَمِينَ وَالْمُهَيْمِنَ عَلَىٰ رُسُلِهِ وَالْخَاتِمَ لأَنْبِيَائِهِ وَالشَّاهِدَ عَلَىٰ خَلْقِهِ وَالشَّفِيعَ إِلَيْهِ وَالْمَكِينَ لَدَيْهِ وَالْمُطَاعَ فِي مَلَكُوتِهِ الأَحْمَدَ مِنَ الأَوْصَافِ المُحَمَّدَ لِسَائِرِ الأَشْرَافِ الكَرِيمَ عِنْدَ الرَّبِّ وَالْمُكَلَّمَ مِنْ وَرَاءِ الْحُجُبِ الفَائِزَ بِالسِّبَاقِ وَالفَائِتَ عَنِ اللِّحَاقِ تَسْلِيمَ عَارِفٍ بِحَقِّكَ مُعْتَرِفٍ بِالتَّقْصِيرِ فِي قِيَامِهِ بِوَاجِبِكَ غَيْرِ مُنْكِرٍ مَا انْتَهَىٰ إِلَيْهِ مِنْ فَضْلِكَ مُوْقِنٍ بِالْمَزِيدَاتِ مِنْ رَبِّكَ مُؤْمِنٍ بِالكِتَابِ الْمُنْزَلِ عَلَيْكَ مُحَلِّلٍ حَلالَكَ مُحَرِّمٍ حَرَامَكَ أَشْهَدُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ مَعَ كُلِّ شَاهِدٍ وَأَتَحَمَّلُهَا عَنْ كُلِّ جَاحِدٍ أَنَّكَ قَدْ بَلَّغْتَ رِسَالاَتِ رَبِّكَ وَنَصَحْتَ لأُمَّتِكَ وَجَاهَدْتَ فِي سَبِيلِ رَبِّكَ وَصَدَعْتَ بِأَمْرِهِ وَاحْتَمَلْتَ الأَذَىٰ فِي جَنْبِهِ وَدَعَوْتَ إِلَىٰ سَبِيلِهِ بِالْحِكْمَةِ وَالْمَوْعِظَةِ الْحَسَنَةِ الْجَمِيلَةِ وَأَدَّيْتَ الحَقَّ الَّذِي كَانَ عَلَيْكَ وَأَنَّكَ قَدْ رَؤُفْتَ بِالْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَغَلُظْتَ عَلَىٰ الكَافِرِينَ وَعَبَدْتَ اللَّهَ مُخْلِصاً حَتَّىٰ أَتَاكَ اليَقِينُ فَبَلَغَ اللَّهُ بِكَ أَشْرَفَ مَحَلِّ الْمُكَرَّمِينَ وَأَعْلَىٰ مَنَازِلِ الْمُقَرَّبِينَ وَأَرْفَعَ دَرَجَاتِ الْمُرْسَلِينَ حَيْثُ لَا يَلْحَقُكَ لاَحِقٌ وَلَا يفُوقُكَ فَائِقٌ وَلَا يَسْبِقُكَ سَابِقٌ وَلَا يَطْمَعُ فِي إِدْرَاكِكَ طَامِعٌ الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي اسْتَنْقَذَنَا بِكَ مِنَ الْهَلَكَةِ وَهَدَانَا بِكَ مِنَ الضَّلالَةِ وَنَوَّرَنَا بِكَ مِنَ الظُّلْمَةِ فَجَزَاكَ اللَّهُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ مِنْ مَبْعُوثٍ أَفْضَلَ مَا جَازَىٰ نَبِيّاً عَنْ أُمَّتِهِ وَرَسُولاً عَمَّنْ أُرْسِلَ إِلَيْهِ بِأَبِي أَنْتَ وَأُمِّي يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ زُرْتُكَ عَارِفاً بِحَقِّكَ مُقِرّاً بِفَضْلِكَ مُسْتَبْصِراً بِضَلالَةِ مَنْ خَالَفَكَ وَخَالَفَ أَهْلَ بَيْتِكَ عَارِفاً بِالْهُدَىٰ الَّذِي أَنْتَ عَلَيْهِ بِأَبِي أَنْتَ وَأُمِّي وَنَفْسِي وَأَهْلِي وَمَالِي وَوَلَدِي أَنَا أُصَلِّي عَلَيْكَ كَمَا صَلَّىٰ اللَّهُ عَلَيْكَ وَصَلَّىٰ عَلَيْكَ مَلائِكَتُهُ وَأَنْبِيَاؤُهُ وَرُسُلُهُ صَلاةً مُتَتَابِعَةً وَافِرَةً مُتَوَاصِلَةً لَا انْقِطَاعَ لَهَا وَلَا أَمَدَ وَلَا أَجَلَ صَلَّىٰ اللَّهُ عَلَيْكَ وَعَلَىٰ أَهْلِ بَيْتِكَ الطَّيِّبِينَ الطَّاهِرِينَ كَمَا أَنْتُمْ أَهْلُهُ. اللَّهُمَّ اجْعَلْ جَوَامِعَ صَلَوَاتِكَ وَنَوَامِيَ بَرَكَاتِكَ وَفَوَاضِلَ خَيْرَاتِكَ وَشَرَائِفَ تَحِيَّاتِكَ وَتَسْلِيمَاتِكَ وَكَرَامَاتِكَ وَرَحَمَاتِكَ وَصَلَوَاتِ مَلائِكَتِكَ الْمُقَرَّبِينَ وَأَنْبِيَائِكَ الْمُرْسَلِينَ وَأَئِمَّتِكَ الْمُنْتَجَبِينَ وَعِبَادِكَ الصَّالِحِينَ وَأَهْلِ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالأَرَضِينَ وَمَنْ سَبَّحَ لَكَ يَا رَبَّ العَالَمِينَ مِنَ الأَوَّلِينَ وَالآخِرِينَ عَلَىٰ مُحَمَّدٍ عَبْدِكَ وَرَسُولِكَ وَشَاهِدِكَ وَنَبِيِّكَ وَنَذِيرِكَ وَأَمِينِكَ وَمَكِينِكَ وَنَجِيِّكَ وَنَجِيبِكَ وَحَبِيبِكَ وَخَلِيلِكَ وَصَفِيِّكَ وَصَفْوَتِكَ وَخَاصَّتِكَ وَخَالِصَتِكَ وَرَحْمَتِكَ وَخَيْرِ خِيَرَتِكَ مِنْ خَلْقِكَ نَبِيِّ الرَّحْمَةِ وَخَازِنِ الْمَغْفِرَةِ وَقَائِدِ الْخَيْرِ وَالبَرَكَةِ وَمُنْقِذِ الْعِبَادِ مِنَ الْهَلَكَةِ بِإِذْنِكَ وَدَاعِيهِمْ إِلَىٰ دِينِكَ الْقَيِّمِ بِأَمْرِكَ أَوَّلِ النَّبِيِّينَ مِيثَاقاً وَآخِرِهِمْ مَبْعَثاً الَّذِي غَمَسْتَهُ فِي بَحْرِ الفَضِيلَةِ وَالْمَنْزِلَةِ الْجَلِيلَةِ وَالدَّرَجَةِ الرَّفِيعَةِ وَالْمَرْتَبَةِ الْخَطِيرَةِ وَأَوْدَعْتَهُ الأَصْلاَبَ الطَّاهِرَةَ وَنَقَلْتَهُ مِنْهَا إِلَىٰ الأَرْحَامِ الْمُطَهَّرَةِ لُطْفاً مِنْكَ لَهُ وَتَحَنُّناً مِنْكَ عَلَيْهِ إِذْ وَكَّلْتَ لِصَوْنِهِ وَحِرَاسَتِهِ وَحِفْظِهِ وَحِيَاطَتِهِ مِنْ قُدْرَتِكَ عَيْناً عَاصِمَةً حَجَبْتَ بِهَا عَنْهُ مَدَانِسَ العَهْرِ وَمَعَائِبَ السِّفَاحِ حَتَّىٰ رَفَعْتَ بِهِ نَوَاظِرَ العِبَادِ وَأَحْيَيْتَ بِهِ مَيْتَ البِلادِ بِأَنْ كَشَفْتَ عَنْ نُورِ وِلادَتِهِ ظُلَمَ الأَسْتَارِ وَالبَسْتَ حَرَمَكَ بِهِ حُلَلَ الأَنْوَارِ اللَّهُمَّ فَكَمَا خَصَصْتَهُ بِشرَفِ هٰذِهِ الْمَرْتَبَةِ الكَرِيمَةِ وَذُخْرِ هٰذِهِ الْمَنْقَبَةِ العَظِيمَةِ صَلِّ عَلَيْهِ كَمَا وَفَىٰ بِعَهْدِكَ وَبَلَّغَ رِسَالاَتِكَ وَقَاتَلَ أَهْلَ الْجُحُودِ عَلَىٰ تَوْحِيدِكَ وَقَطَعَ رَحِمَ الكُفْرِ فِي إِعْزَازِ دِينِكَ وَلَبِسَ ثَوْبَ البَلْوَىٰ فِي مُجَاهَدَةِ أَعْدَائِكَ وَأَوْجَبْتَ لَهُ بِكُلِّ أَذَىٰ مَسَّهُ أَوْ كَيْدٍ أَحَسَّ بِهِ مِنَ الفِئَةِ الَّتِي حَاوَلَتْ قَتْلَهُ فَضِيلَةً تَفُوقُ الفَضَائِلَ وَيَمْلِكُ بِهَا الْجَزِيلَ مِنْ نَوَالِكَ وَقَدْ أَسَرَّ الْحَسْرَةَ وَأَخْفَىٰ الزَّفْرَةَ وَتَجَرَّعَ الغُصَّةَ وَلَمْ يَتَخَطَّ مَا مَثَّلَ لَهُ وَحْيُكَ اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَيْهِ وَعَلَىٰ أَهْلِ بَيْتِهِ صَلاةً تَرْضَاهَا لَهُمْ وَبَلِّغْهُمْ مِنَّا تَحِيَّةً كَثِيرَةً وَسَلاَماً وَآتِنَا مِنْ لَدُنْكَ فِي مُوَالاَتِهِمْ فَضْلاً وَإِحْسَاناً وَرَحْمَةً وَغُفْرَاناً إِنَّكَ ذُو الفَضْلِ العَظِيمِ. اللَّهُمَّ إِنَّكَ قُلْتَ لِنَبِيِّكَ مُحَمَّدٍ صَلَّىٰ اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ: ﴿وَلَوْ أَنَّهُمْ إِذْ ظَلَمُوا أَنْفُسَهُمْ جَاؤُوكَ فَاسْتَغْفَرُوا اللَّهَ وَاسْتَغْفَرَ لَهُمُ الرَّسُولُ لَوَجَدُوا اللَّهَ تَوَّاباً رَحِيماً.﴾ وَلَمْ أَحْضُرْ زَمَانَ رَسُولِكَ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ السَّلاَمُ اللَّهُمَّ وَقَدْ زُرْتُهُ رَاغِباً تَائِباً مِنْ سَيِّءِ عَمَلِي وَمُسْتَغْفِراً لَكَ مِنْ ذُنُوبِي وَمُقِرّاً لَكَ بِهَا وَأَنْتَ أَعْلَمُ بِهَا مِنِّي وَمُتَوَجِّهاً إِلَيْكَ بِنَبِيِّكَ نَبِيِّ الرَّحْمَةِ صَلَوَاتُكَ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ فَاجْعَلْنِي اللَّهُمَّ بِمُحَمَّدٍ وَأَهْلِ بَيْتِهِ عِنْدَكَ وَجِيهاً فِي الدُّنْيَا وَالآخِرَةِ وَمِنَ الْمُقَرَّبِينَ يَا مُحَمَّدُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ بِأَبِي أَنْتَ وَأُمِّي يَا نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ يَا سَيِّدَ خَلْقِ اللَّهِ إِنِّي أَتَوَجَّهُ بِكَ إِلَىٰ اللَّهِ رَبِّكَ وَرَبِّي لِيَغْفِرَ لِي ذُنُوبِي وَيَتَقَبَّلَ مِنِّي عَمَلِي وَيَقْضِيَ لِي حَوَائِجِي فَكُنْ لِي شَفِيعاً عِنْدَ رَبِّكَ وَرَبِّي فَنِعْمَ الْمَسْؤُولُ الْمَوْلَىٰ رَبِّي وَنِعْمَ الشَّفِيعُ أَنْتَ يَا مُحَمَّدُ عَلَيْكَ وَعَلَىٰ أَهْلِ بَيتِكَ السَّلاَمُ اللَّهُمَّ وَأَوْجِبْ لِي مِنْكَ الْمَغْفِرَةَ وَالرَّحْمَةَ وَالرِّزْقَ الوَاسِعَ الطَّيِّبَ النَّافِعَ كَمَا أَوْجَبْتَ لِمَنْ أَتَىٰ نَبِيِّكَ مُحَمَّداً صَلَوَاتُكَ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَهُوَ حَيٌّ فَأَقَرَّ لَهُ بِذُنُوبِهِ وَاسْتَغْفَرَ لَهُ رَسُولُكَ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ السَّلاَمُ فَغَفَرْتَ لَهُ بِرَحْمَتِكَ يَا أَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِينَ اللَّهُمَّ وَقَدْ أَمَّلْتُكَ وَرَجَوْتُكَ وَقُمْتُ بَيْنَ يَدَيْكَ وَرَغِبْتُ إِلَيْكَ عَمَّنْ سِوَاكَ وَقَدْ أَمَّلْتُ جَزِيلَ ثَوَابِكَ وَإِنِّي لَمُقِرٌّ غَيْرُ مُنْكِرٍ وَتَائِبٌ إِلَيْكَ مِمَّا اقْتَرَفْتُ وَعَائِذٌ بِكَ فِي هٰذَا الْمَقَامِ مِمَّا قَدَّمْتُ مِنَ الأَعْمَالِ الَّتِي تَقَدَّمْتَ إِلَيَّ فِيهَا وَنَهَيْتَنِي عَنْهَا وَأَوْعَدْتَ عَلَيْهَا العِقَابَ وَأَعُوذُ بِكَرَمِ وَجْهِكَ أَنْ تُقِيمَنِي مَقَامَ الْخِزْيِ وَالذُّلِّ يَوْمَ تُهْتَكُ فِيهِ الأَسْتَارُ وَتَبْدُو فِيهِ الأَسْرَارُ وَالفَضَائِحُ وَتَرْعَدُ فِيهِ الفَرَائِصُ يَوْمَ الْحَسْرَةِ وَالنَّدَامَةِ يَوْمَ الآفِكَةِ يَوْمَ الآزِفَةِ يَوْمَ التَّغَابُنِ يَوْمَ الفَصْلِ يَوْمَ الْجَزَاءِ يَوْماً كَانَ مِقْدَارُهُ خَمْسِينَ الفَ سَنَةٍ يَوْمَ النَّفْخَةِ يَوْمَ تَرْجُفُ الرَّاجِفَةُ تَتْبَعُهَا الرَّادِفَةُ يَوْمَ النَّشْرِ يَوْمَ العَرْضِ يَوْمَ يَقُومُ النَّاسُ لِرَبِّ العَالَمِينَ يَوْمَ يَفِرُّ الْمَرْءُ مِنْ أَخِيهِ وَأُمِّهِ وَأَبِيهِ وَصَاحِبَتِهِ وَبَنِيهِ يَوْمَ تَشَقَّقُ الأَرْضُ وَأَكْنَافُ السَّمَاءِ يَوْمَ تَأْتِي كُلُّ نَفْسٍ تُجَادِلُ عَنْ نَفْسِهَا يَوْمَ يُرَدُّونَ إِلَىٰ اللَّهِ فَيُنَبِّئُهُمْ بِمَا عَمِلُوا يَوْمَ لَا يُغْنِي مَوْلَىٰ عَنْ مَوْلَىٰ شَيْئاً وَلَا هُمْ يُنْصَرُونَ إِلاَّ مَنْ رَحِمَ اللَّهُ إِنَّهُ هُوَ العَزِيزُ الرَّحِيمُ يَوْمَ يُرَدُّونَ إِلَىٰ عَالِمِ الغَيْبِ وَالشَّهَادَةِ يَوْمَ يُرَدُّونَ إِلَىٰ اللَّهِ مَوْلاهُمُ الْحَقِّ يَوْمَ يَخْرُجُونَ مِنَ الأَجْدَاثِ سِرَاعاً كَأَنَّهُمْ إِلَىٰ نُصُبٍ يُوفِضُونَ وَكَأَنَّهُمْ جَرَادٌ مُنْتَشِرٌ مُهْطِعِينَ إِلَىٰ الدَّاعِي إِلَىٰ اللَّهِ يَوْمَ الوَاقِعَةِ يَوْمَ تُرَجُّ الأَرْضُ رَجّاً يَوْمَ تَكُونُ السَّمَاءُ كَالْمُهْلِ وَتَكُونُ الْجِبَالُ كَالعِهْنِ وَلَا يَسْأَلُ حَمِيمٌ حَمِيماً يَوْمَ الشَّاهِدِ وَالْمَشْهُودِ يَوْمَ تَكُونُ الْمَلائِكَةُ صَفّاً صَفّاً اللَّهُمَّ ارْحَمْ مَوْقِفِي فِي ذٰلِكَ اليَوْمِ بِمَوْقِفِي فِي هٰذَا اليَوْمِ وَلَا تُخْزِنِي فِي ذٰلِكَ الْمَوْقِفِ بِمَا جَنَيْتُ عَلَىٰ نَفْسِي وَاجْعَلْ يَا رَبِّ فِي ذٰلِكَ اليَوْمِ مَعَ أَوْلِيَائِكَ مُنْطَلَقِي وَفِي زُمْرَةِ مُحَمَّدٍ وَأَهْلِ بَيْتِهِ عَلَيْهِمُ السَّلاَمُ مَحْشَرِي وَاجْعَلْ حَوْضَهُ مَوْرِدِي وَفِي الغُرِّ الكِرَامِ مَصْدَرِي وَأَعْطِنِي كِتَابِي بِيَمِينِي حَتَّىٰ أَفُوزَ بِحَسَنَاتِي وَتُبَيِّضَ بِهِ وَجْهِي وَتُيَسِّرَ بِهِ حِسَابِي وَتُرَجِّحَ بِهِ مِيزَانِي وَأَمْضِيَ مَعَ الفَائِزِينَ مِنْ عِبَادِكَ الصَّالِحِينَ إِلَىٰ رِضْوَانِكَ وَجِنَانِكَ إِلٰهَ العَالَمِينَ اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ أَنْ تَفْضَحَنِي فِي ذٰلِكَ اليَوْمِ بَيْنَ يَدَي الْخَلائِقِ بِجَرِيرَتِي أَو أَنْ القَىٰ الْخِزْيَ وَالنَّدَامَةَ بِخَطِيئَتِي أَوْ أَنْ تُظْهِرَ فِيهِ سَيِّئَاتِي عَلَىٰ حَسَنَاتِي أَوْ أَنْ تُنَوِّهَ بَيْنَ الْخَلاَئِقِ بِاسْمِي يَا كَرِيمُ يَا كَرِيمُ العَفْوَ العَفْوَ السِّتْرَ السِّتْرَ اللَّهُمَّ وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ أَنْ يَكُونَ فِي ذٰلِكَ اليَوْمِ فِي مَوَاقِفِ الأَشْرَارِ مَوْقِفِي أَوْ فِي مَقَامِ الأَشْقِيَاءِ مَقَامِي وَإِذَا مَيَّزْتَ بَيْنَ خَلْقِكَ فَسُقْتَ كُلاًّ بِأَعْمَالِهِمْ زُمَراً إِلَىٰ مَنَازِلِهِمْ فَسُقْنِي بِرَحْمَتِكَ مَعَ عِبَادِكَ الصَّالِحِينَ وَفِي زُمْرَةِ أَوْلِيَائِكَ الْمُتَّقِينَ إِلَىٰ جَنَّاتِكَ يَا رَبَّ الْعَالَمِينَ. السَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ السَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ أَيُّهَا الْبَشِيرُ النَّذِيرُ السَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ أَيُّهَا السِّرَاجُ الْمُنِيرُ السَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ أَيُّهَا السَّفِيرُ بَيْنَ اللَّهِ وَبَيْنَ خَلْقِهِ أَشْهَدُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَنَّكَ كُنْتَ نُوراً فِي الأَصْلاَبِ الشَّامِخَةِ وَالأَرْحَامِ الْمُطَهَّرَةِ لَمْ تُنَجِّسْكَ الْجَاهِلِيَّةُ بِأَنْجَاسِهَا وَلَمْ تُلْبِسْكَ مِنْ مُدْلَهِمَّاتِ ثِيَابِهَا وَأَشْهَدُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَنِّي مُؤْمِنٌ بِكَ وَبِالأَئِمَّةِ مِنْ أَهْلِ بَيْتِكَ مُوقِنٌ بِجَمِيعِ مَا أَتَيْتَ بِهِ رَاضٍ مُؤْمِنٌ وَأَشْهَدُ أَنَّ الأَئِمَّةَ مِنْ أَهْلِ بَيْتِكَ أَعْلامُ الْهُدَىٰ وَالعُرْوَةُ الوُثْقَىٰ وَالْحُجَّةُ عَلَىٰ أَهْلِ الدُّنْيَا اللَّهُمَّ لَا تَجْعَلْهُ آخِرَ العَهْدِ مِنْ زِيَارَةِ نَبِيِّكَ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ السَّلاَمُ وَإِنْ تَوَفَّيْتَنِي فَإِنِّي أَشْهَدُ فِي مَمَاتِي عَلَىٰ مَا أَشْهَدُ عَلَيْهِ فِي حَيَاتِي أَنَّكَ أَنْتَ اللَّهُ لَا إِلٰهَ إِلاَّ أَنْتَ وَحْدَكَ لَا شَرِيكَ لَكَ وَأَنَّ مُحَمَّداً عَبْدُكَ وَرَسُولُكَ وَأَنَّ الأَئِمَّةَ مِنْ أَهْلِ بَيْتِهِ أَوْلِيَاؤُكَ وَأَنْصَارُكَ وَحُجَجُكَ عَلَىٰ خَلْقِكَ وَخُلَفَاؤُكَ فِي عِبَادِكَ وَأَعْلامُكَ فِي بِلاَدِكَ وَخُزَّانُ عِلْمِكَ وَحَفَظَةُ سِرِّكَ وَتَرَاجِمَةُ وَحْيِكَ اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَىٰ مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ وَبَلِّغْ رُوحَ نَبِيِّكَ مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِهِ فِي سَاعَتِي هٰذِهِ وَفِي كُلِّ سَاعَةٍ تَحِيَّةً مِنِّي وَسَلاماً وَالسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ وَرَحْمَةُ اللَّهِ وَبَرَكَاتُهُ لَا جَعَلَهُ اللَّهُ آخِرَ تَسْلِيمِي عَلَيْكَ

Fourth: It is recommended to visit the tomb of Imam Ali Amir al-Mu’minin with the salutatory prayer that Imam Jaafar al-Sadiq taught to Muhammad ibn Muslim.

الرّابع: زيارة أمير المؤمنين عليه السلام بما زار به الصّادق عليه السلام وعلّمه محمّد بن مُسلم من ألفاظ الزّيارة

Fifth: It is recommended to offer, in the forenoon, a two-unit prayer and to recite at each of which Surah al-Fatihah once and repeat Surah al-Qadr ten times and Surah al-Tawhid ten times. After accomplished, it is recommended to sit in one’s place of prayer and say the supplicatory prayer that begins with the following statement:

الخامس: أن يصلّي عند ارتفاع النّهار ركعتين؛ يقرأ في كلّ ركعة بعد الحمد سورة إِنّا أَنْزَلناهُ عشر مرّات والتّوحيد عشر مرّات. ثمّ يجلس في مُصلاّه ويدعو بالدّعاء

O Allah, verily You are Ever-living and You never die…

اللَّهُمَّ أَنْتَ حَيٌّ لاَ تَمُوتُ…

Sixth: Muslims are advised to honor this day; they may give alms, do righteous deeds, give pleasure to the brethren-in-faith, and visit the holy shrines. In Iqbal al-Aʿmal, Sayyid Ibn Tawus has expatiated upon the necessity of honoring this day, saying, “I noticed that Christians and some Muslims honor the birthday of Prophet Jesus in a matchless, remarkable way. I thus wonder how those Muslims accept to honor the birthday of their Prophet in a way less than their honoring another Prophet!”

السّادس: أن يعظّم المسلمون هذا اليوم ويتصدّقوا فيه ويعملوا الخير ويسرّوا المؤمنين ويزوروا المشاهد الشّريفة. والسّيد في “الاقبال” قد بسط القول في لزوم تعظيم هذا اليوم وقال: قد وجدت النّصارى وجماعة من المسلمين يعظّمون مولد عيسى عليه السلام تعظيماً لا يعظّمون فيه أحداً من العالمين! وتعجّبت كيف قنع من يعظم ذلك المُولد من أهل الاسلام كيف يقنعون أن يكون مَولد نبيّهم الذي هو أعظم من كلّ نبيّ دون مَولد واحد من الأنبياء
