مَنْ حَاوَلَ أمْراً بِـمَعْصِيَةِ اللهِ كانَ أفْوَتَ لِمَا يَرْجُو وَأسْرَعَ لِمَا يَـحْذَرُ

He, who tries to achieve something through acting disobediently to God, will miss what he has expected and fall into what he has feared.

لِلسَّلاَمِ سَبْعُونَ حَسَنَةٍ؛ تِسْعٌ وَسِتُّونَ لِلْمُبْتَدِئِ وَواحِدَةٌ لِلرَّادِّ

There are seventy rewards for greeting. Sixty-nine are awarded to the one who greets first, and one is granted to the one who greets back.

إِيّاكَ وَما تَعْتَذِرُ مِنْهُ، فَإنَّ الـمُؤْمِنَ لا يُسِي‏ءُ وَلا يَعْتَذِرُ. وَالـمُنَافِقُ كُلَّ يَومٍ يُسِي‏ءُ وَيَعْتَذِرُ

Avoid doing things for which you will have to apologize. Verily, a true believer should not make mistakes so as to avoid making apologies. While a hypocrite is he who everyday makes mistakes and then apologizes.

إيَّاكَ وَظُلْمَ مَنْ لا يَـجِدُ عَلَيكَ ناصِراً إلَّا اللهَ جَلَّ وَعَزَّ

Beware of wronging him who does not have a supporter against you except God the All-majestic and Almighty.

الاِسْتِدْرَاجُ مِنَ اللهِ سُبْحَانَهُ لِعَبْدِهِ أنْ يُسْبِغَ عَلَيهِ النِّعَمَ وَيَسْلُبَهُ الشُّكْرَ

When God wills to lead a servant of Him into destruction gradually, He bestows upon him boons and deprives him of gratitude for them.

تَكونُ الصَّنِيعَةُ مِثْلَ وابِلِ الـمَطَرِ؛ تُصيبُ البَـرَّ وَالفاجِرَ

Favours should be like heavy rain that covers the pious and the sinful.

مَنْ أَحَبَّكَ نَـهَاكَ، وَمَنْ أبْغَضَكَ أغْرَاكَ

He, who truly loves you, will warn you against erring. But he, who hates you, will seduce you into erring.

طُولُ التَّجارِبِ زِيادَةٌ في العَقْلِ

Extended experiments enhance sagacity.

إِعْلَمْ أنَّ مالَكَ لا تَبْقى لَهُ وَلا يُبْقِي عَلَيْكَ. فَكُلْهُ قَبْلَ أنْ يَأْكُلَكَ

Be it known to you that you will not live forever to take pleasure in your wealth. Nor will your wealth keep you alive forever. So, devour it before it devours you.

مُـجَالَسَةُ أهْلِ الدَّناءَةِ شَرٌّ، وَمُجالَسَةُ أهْلِ الفِسْقِ رِيبَةٌ

To sit with the lowly is wickedness. And to sit with the dissolute is a misgiving.
